Early beginnings with Fiat and Audi

It all began back in 1983 in the southern German Franconian region behind the wheel of a Fiat 131 at a regional rally. In 1984 Armin sits in a 131 Sport Group 2. He reminisces about 1985: “We turned a two-litre Mirafiori into a four-valve Group 4 car. Working on the car was as interesting and rewarding for us as the driving. The northern Bavarian vice-champion title doesn't really give an indication of the fun we had.“ In 1986 Armin experiences his “best year as a privateer“. With an Audi 80 quattro he wins the Mitropa Cup – as driver, team boss, sponsor specialist and mechanic. “I look back on this time with very fond memories.“
