PROJECT BAJA, USA: Full throttle through the desert
Armin Schwarz returns as one of the favourites to contest the American SCORE International Off-Road Racing Series in 2010. Last year the German drove the 600+hp race car for All German Motorsports team with his team boss Martin Christensen to claim third in the Class 1 for “Unlimited Buggies”. Not only is Armin one of the most successful Buggy pilots in the USA, he is also much loved by fans and the media for his spectacular driving style and candour.
The SCORE International is arguably the toughest and most popular desert race series in the world. Five rounds in the USA and Mexico make up the 2010 calendar. The racing highlight this year is again the world famous “Baja 1000” in Mexico, a race on which Schwarz and his partners gave their three-year “Project Baja” its name back in 2007.
Schwarz, contester of 121 world rally championship rounds, ex-European champion and two-time German championship winner, is regarded as one of the world's most experienced rally pilots. At his three starts in America's most popular offroad racing series last year Schwarz impressed fans and insiders when he lead his class on several occasions, handing over the AGM buggy to his team mates holding the top position.
In continuation of 2007, Armin Schwarz and his team partner Martin Christensen will pilot the ca. 700+hp Jimco Buggy, again fielded by the high-profile and very successful All German Motorsports Team.
